What is an Onam Sadya?
Onam Sadya is Kerala's traditional vegetarian feast, served on a banana leaf and eaten by hand, seated on the floor or at a table. It's the centerpiece meal of Onam, Kerala's harvest festival, and is also served at weddings, temple functions and other celebrations throughout the year. A full Sadya can include over twenty dishes — rice, curries, pickles, crisps and one or more payasam desserts — each with its own place on the leaf.
What's included when you order from Adithya
Adithya Catering Kitchen offers several Sadya menu tiers, each building on a core of rice, sambar, avial, thoran, olan, pachadi, rasam and moru, with larger tiers adding more curries, pickles, banana chips and a richer payasam. Every menu includes:
- A full course of traditional Kerala curries and accompaniments
- At least one payasam variety, depending on the tier
- Serving utensils, table sheets, and dessert & water glasses
Most menus require a minimum order of 25 plates. See our full Sadya menu for the exact dishes and pricing in each tier.
How far in advance to book
For weddings and large events, book at least 2–3 weeks ahead to guarantee your preferred date — especially during the Onam season, when demand is highest. For smaller daily orders, a day's notice is usually enough.
